Gorgeous set of three Sorrento wooden music boxes Prince kept in his villa in Nice, France, during the production of his 1986 film Under the Cherry Moon, with two approximately measuring 6.5 x 2.75 x 5, and the other 9.5 x 2.5 x 4. Each box features beautiful inlaid floral or musical designs and, when opened, play bars from the songs ‘Santa Lucia,’ ‘O Sole Mio,’ and ‘Torna a Sorrento.’ Two box keys are included; the third is a keyless box. In overall fine condition, with marks to two tops and a repaired hinge to one, which bears a few small nail holes. From the collection of Prince’s former assistant.
