Description

Partly-printed vellum DS as president, one page, 12 x 8.25, April 6, 1821. President Monroe grants David Lyons and Lewis Rogers, "assignees of Robert Sturgus," a tract of land at Vincennes "containing One hundred and Sixty acres." Signed at the conclusion by Monroe, and countersigned by Commissioner of the General Land Office Josiah Meigs. The white paper seal affixed to the lower left remains intact. Double-matted and framed with a large engraving of Monroe to an overall size of 34.25 x 19. In very good to fine condition, with some light toning and scattered speckled small stains.
