York is a candidate for the superintendent of the armory at Harpers ferry. I sincerely hope it will be in your power to gratify him. The recommendations he has submitted render it almost superfluous that I should add anything on the score of his merits and capacity. I will therefore only say that if you can find it consistent to appoint him I am entirely satisfied he will discharge the duties of the place with credit to kinship & usefulness." Removably encapsulated in a mylar sleeve. In fine condition.
