TLS, one page, 7.25 x 10.5, 730 Park Avenue letterhead, March 6, 1964. Letter to Edwin Miller, the entertainment editor of Seventeen magazine, in full: "It is pleasant to know that you thought of me in connection with the monthly feature which is meant to be a sort of informal talk by an adult and liberal writer to the young readers of your magazine. I wish that I might accept your invitation to contribute a brief article such as you describe. I am sorry to say that I cannot. Because of a minor, but rather long-drawn-out eye condition which is now on the mend, I am literally a year or more in arrears on my work; and the very thought of taking on any extra pressure sends me into not a minor but a major panic. I am sure you will understand. My thanks to you." In fine condition.
