Scottish missionary and explorer (1813-1873) who 'disappeared' on an expedition to find the source of the Nile only to be famously rediscovered by Henry M. Stanley several years later. Partial ALS signed “D. Livingstone,” one page, 3.75 x 6.5, no date. In full: "but I think you need not make such a journey now. I thank you for the hints and will act upon them if there seems to be a need." In fine condition, with trimmed edges and old mounting traces on the reverse.
