Early partly-printed vellum DS as president, one page, 15.75 x 19.5, June 30, 1913. President Wilson appoints John Huff Van Vliet as "Second Lieutenant of Infantry in the service of the United States." Signed at the conclusion by Wilson, and countersigned by Secretary of War Lindley M. Garrison. Blue War Office seal remains affixed to lower left corner. In fine condition, with Wilson's signature a couple of shades light.
