Uncommon partly-printed DS as president, one page, 20 x 16, December 18, 1924. President Coolidge appoints Donald F. de Otte as "temporarily an Ensign in the Coast Guard of the United States." Signed at the conclusion by Coolidge, and countersigned by Secretary of the Treasury Andrew W. Mellon. Gold seal remains partially affixed to lower left. In very good to fine condition, with a strip of toning to the right side, and small bits missing from seal. Presidentially signed Coast Guard commissions remain highly uncommon.
