Russian statesman (1860–1927) who was involved in negotiating the Potsdam Agreement and the Russo-Japanese Defensive Alliance, and was involved in events leading up to WWI. Two items: an AQS signed "S. Sazonov, Prague 1923, in full: "Bolshevism is an international government and disregards the national feeling of the people. No such government can count upon a long lease of life"; and a matte-finish 2.25 x 2.75 portrait, signed "S. Sazonov." Matted and framed together to an overall size of 13.5 x 8.5. In overall fine condition, with a paperclip impression to the top edge of the photo.
