Woodrow Wilson

Partly-printed vellum DS as president, one page, 16 x 19.75, August 4, 1916. President Wilson appoints Carl J. Ballinger as "First Lieutenant of Infantry in the service of the United States." Signed at the conclusion by Wilson, and countersigned by Secretary of War Newton D. Baker. Blue War Office seal remains affixed to lower left corner. Rolled and in fine condition, with light overall rippling and a creased upper left corner. Accompanied by a second appointment for Ballinger, signed by Assistant Secretary of War William Moulton Ingraham. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
