Letter to Jonathan Tigert, in full: “Your letter and the postcard you sent me last October has been sitting on my desk waiting for me to answer it personally for all these months. One does not receive everyday something so part of their lives of long ago, yet so fresh and redolent of such happy carefree days, for me at least. And you as a young student at Oxford coming down to attend the Belle of Mayfair at the Vaudeville, sounds young and gay and happy too—You were nice to write me after seeing ‘Oz’—and I thank both you and your wife for letting me know I was privileged to be a memory down the years. It helps tremendously, as the road gets strangely rocky as we go along. Thank you again.” In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Burke’s own hand.
