German pioneer in American filmmaking and founder of Universal Studios (1867–1939), who, with the help of his son Carl Laemmle, Jr., produced many of the classic horror films of the 1930s. Vintage pearl-finish 8 x 10 portrait of Laemmle by Melvin H. Sykes of Chicago, signed in dark fountain pen, “Cordially yours, Carl Laemmle.” In very good condition, with scattered dings, small bends and surface impressions, and a few tiny chips to edges. With signed photos of Laemmle of notable scarcity, this is a highly appealing portrait of the Universal founder, who remains increasingly sought-after across all formats. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
