American actress and film producer (1894–1957) of the silent era who is deemed one of the most elegant and glamorous film stars of the roaring twenties; her younger sister Constance Talmadge was also a movie star. Vintage glossy 10.75 x 13.75 Melbourne Spurr portrait of Talmadge, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To Clarence Brown, With sincere good wishes for even greater success, Sincerely yours, Norma Talmadge.” Lower left corner bears a Spurr blindstamp, with the reverse featuring the photographer’s portrait stamp. Trimmed and in very good condition, with scattered surface impressions, portions of discoloration, a tear to upper right edge, and paper loss to upper edge. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
