Four TLSs, two signed “Marion” and two signed “W. R. Hearst,” six total pages, personal and business letterhead, dated between 1943 and 1946. All of the letters are addressed to Mary Bye. The Davies letters primarily consist of season’s greetings and updates on shared friends and acquaintances; one letter, dated September 25, 1944, in part: “Yes, the Gables disaster was disheartening but we are gradually getting things organized. We are making some alterations but due to Government restrictions we can’t do much.” The Hearst letters are both brief missives thanking Bye and her husband for their birthday wishes. Also includes four unsigned glossy candid photos, with four showing images of the couple’s property, and another depicting Davies ironing a necktie. Also includes a Western Union telegram from Davies sending Thanksgiving greetings. In overall fine condition. Accompanied by two original mailing envelopes. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
