Description

William Moultrie

General in the Continental Army during the American Revolution and later governor of South Carolina (1730–1805). Partly-printed DS, signed “Will’m Moultrie,” one page, 16.25 x 11, August 5, 1793. As governor of South Carolina, Moultrie grants William Minor “a Plantation of Tract of Land, containing Eight Thousand and nine Acres…situate in the District of Orangeburgh.” Signed at the bottom by Moultrie. The large original state seal remains suspended from the document. Includes a hand-drawn survey of the land. In very good condition, with scattered light staining, a tear to the lower left corner, and tape repairs on the reverse to small areas of paper loss. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
