A GS7608 Portable Communications System made by the Hamilton Standard Division of United Aircraft Corporation, measuring 9.75 x 6 x 3, used to facilitate communication between technicians and astronauts during ground operations. The box features inputs for up to four technicians and three astronauts, as well as independent volume controls. Includes the original June 1967 operations manual for the unit, which further describes its purpose: “The PCS provides a means of two-way communications between a suited astronaut and his support technician. The system is to be used during the time interval between leaving the vehicle which transports the astronaut to the launch complex, and hookup to the spacecraft communications system. The system may also be used during tests with the astronaut suited in a normal environment.” In very good condition, with general wear.
