Letter to “My dear Kieffer,” in full: “I am hoping to get some real advice in a day or two regarding your American Navy cartoons. In fact the Scribner’s are looking into the matter for me. Personally, I have found no publication yet who will offer reasonable royalties. We often think of you—and I do every time I look at that canvas I haven’t packed and sent to you!
