Group of five NASA books from the personal collection of moonwalker Gene Cernan, each signed on an opening page in black ink below his ownership stamp, “Gene Cernan, Apollo XVII,” with one book signed and inscribed by the parents of Apollo 1 astronaut Roger Chaffee. Titles include: Wernher von Braun: Crusader for Space (signed by Ernst Stuhlinger and Frederick I. Ordway III); Space; The Overview Effect; Apollo Program Flight Operations: 35th Anniversary Reunion & Mission History; and …On Course to the Stars: The Roger B. Chaffee Story, which bears an affixed Post-it note written in Cernan’s own hand, “Roger Chaffee Parents.” The Wernher von Braun book annotated on the signed page in another hand, “Presented to: Dr. H[arrison] Schmitt, Lunar Module Pilot, Apollo 17, By: National Space Club, Huntsville Committee, Van Braun Center, December 11, 2002.” In overall fine condition.
