TLS, one page, 7.25 x 11, personal letterhead, February 25, 1937. Letter to Mrs. Mahon, in part: “I appreciated so very much the things you wrote me about ‘Gone With the Wind.’ You, a Southerner, can realize how much the kindness and enthusiasm of the people of the South has meant to me. And when you tell me that your two children liked the book then I am pleased! Of course, I never dreamed I would have such an enormous sale and I never dreamed anyone, except people interested in history, would read my book. So, when I hear that children of high school age like it—well, that makes me very happy.” In fine condition, with some unobtrusive light irregular toning. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
