In full: “I certainly appreciate your kind thought in sending me those clippings of the last war in which we had such a good time together, and I shall, with your permission, retain them for my scrap book. Please accept my congratulations on your son, who has unquestionably made remarkable progress in civil life and in the army. I am sure that he will continue to gain promotion, because, as you well know, there is always plenty of room at the top.” Handsomely double-matted and framed to an overall size of 23 x 19.5.
