Vintage glossy 7.5 x 9.25 portrait of a young Presley in a suit and tie, signed on the reverse in blue ballpoint, “Yours, Elvis Presley.” In very good condition, with scattered creases and surface marks to image side, heavier to edges as well as several small horizontal edge tears, some scattered light silvering and some light toning and creasing to reverse; signature largely unaffected by flaws to photo. Accompanied by two letters of provenance from the son of the original recipient; the letter dated March 31, 1988, in part: “This picture of Elvis was autographed by him in person in 1955-56 at the Big Spring Texas City auditorium. During a performance there. My mother Mamie Floyd Johnson got him to sign it. I saw him sign it for her.” A desirable signature obtained not long before Presley would become a household name.
