ALS signed “G. Bernard Shaw,” one page on the reverse of a 3.5 x 5.25 postcard, July 14, 1943. Letter to James Shirvell, in full: “I had hoped that the C. S. was dead, now that the film has been fitted with a new plot that does not infringe my copyright though it retains the old music. I will do nothing to encourage or facilitate its revival at the West End; but if it is still going on in the provinces I am not likely to spoil business by stopping it. But I had rather not renew nor extend the contract.” Addressed on the reverse in Shaw’s own hand. In fine condition, with mounting remnants to the address side. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
