Vintage matte-finish 16 x 20 gelatin silver close-up portrait of an ebullient Monroe. Reverse bears an Andre de Dienes photography stamp, as well as an ownership notation by his wife, “25/67–Given to Chad Lewis, Shirley de Dienes, 11-18-86.” In fine condition. In 1945, de Dienes became the first photographer to shoot the young Norma Jeane as a professional model. His photos of Monroe appeared on over twenty-three magazine covers from 1945 to 1949 worldwide. Photos by de Dienes remain highly desirable.
