Henry Flagler

Real estate and railroad entrepreneur and president of the Standard Oil Company (1830–1913) who set out to make Florida the ‘Newport of the South’ by providing extensive rail access and grand hotels to lure wealthy vacationers. TLS signed “H. M. Flagler,” one page, 7.75 x 10, Florida East Coast Railway letterhead, May 10, 1900. Letter to J. L. Greatsinger, in full: “I have delayed reply to your favor of 30th ult., awaiting arrival of the book mentioned, which has not yet come to hand. I have however, a copy sent me by Mr. Porter.” In fine condition, with intersecting folds. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
