Joey Ramone’s stage-used right-handed black leather glove, size medium, with Velcro wrist strap and breathable knuckle holes. In fine, well-used condition. Accompanied by a copy of a letter of provenance from longtime Ramones tour manager Monte Melnick, in full: “Joey Ramone liked to wear these driving gloves on stage. I was responsible for going out and buying these gloves for Joey. One thing about them is that he would sweat into them during the show and the dye would come off on his hands so when he would come off stage his hands were dyed black. When the Ramones retired in 1996 I cleaned out the wardrobe trunk and found this glove that Joey had worn on stage.” The Ramones and their trademark leather uniforms helped dictate the style for the burgeoning punk movement of the 1970s and ‘80s. A fantastic stage-worn glove from the band’s lanky leading man. From The Monte A. Melnick Ramones Collection.
