Gatchell, in full: “Your proposition for settlement of account at 20 cents on a dollar, was brought before our board of Directors last evening. As it is one of the rules of our Company not to compromise accounts nothing could be done in that line. The Board regards your case as a very exceptional case and if any circumstances could be deemed sufficient to change the policy of the Company, it would have been done in your case. I have, therefore, to advise you that this company is unable to accept your proposition of settlement.” In very good condition, with light staining from tape remnants to reverse.
