In part: “We have received the letter…in which you acquaint us that you had been elected by the result of the vote of the Dominican People to the Presidency of the Republick. We request you to accept our congratulations…and we assure you that it is our earnest desire to maintain and improve the Relations of Friendship which happily subsist between Great Britain and the Dominican Republick.” Signed at the conclusion by the queen and countersigned by Edward Stanley, 15th Earl of Derby, the secretary of state for foreign affairs. In very good condition, with overall staining and paper loss to two words from ink erosion. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
