TLS, one page, 6.5 x 7, The Outlook letterhead, September 15, 1913. Letter to S. G. Smith, a secretary of the local Progressive Party in Ohio County, West Virginia, in full: “Through you I wish to extend my hearty greetings to the Progressive Congressional Convention which is to meet on September 20th to put a straight-out Progressive in nomination for Congress. I wish you all possible success. The only chance for putting this Government on a proper basis is through the Progressive Party, by the practical enactment into law of all the policies advocated in the Progressive National platform last year. Both the old parties are privilege-ridden and boss-controlled. Neither has any constructive programs of real advantage from the standpoint of the average man in this country.” Framed and in fine condition, with slight fading to text. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
