After he was shot, she entered his box and tried to comfort him, cradling his head in her lap. ALS, one page both sides, 4.5 x 7, personal monogrammed letterhead, June 28, 1868. In part: “Will you pay me that promised visit at your earliest leisure, I have a matter of great importance…and would like to consult with you on the subject.” In fine condition.
