Manuscript DS as president, signed “Wm. H. Taft,” one page, 9.25 x 12.75, June 17, 1910. President Taft appoints Lewis Nixon of New York as “Special Delegate of the United States of America…to attend the ceremonies which are to take place at Santiago, Chile, in September next, incident to the centenary celebration of Chile.” Signed at the conclusion by Taft and countersigned by Secretary of State Philander C. Knox. Double-matted and framed to an overall size of 17.75 x 21.75. In fine condition, with a repaired crack and tear to the upper left corner. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
