Two items: menu for a dinner given in honor of actor Joseph Jefferson on March 29, 1898, signed in pencil by Jefferson below an engraved portrait, and signed inside in ink by Howard Chandler Christy, who adds a sketch of a famous ‘Christy Girl’ below, along with two others; and a signed ink sketch by Lisl Weil showing a waiter with a dinner guest that looks like Hitler, reading (translated), “He always knows what everyone wants to eat,” on an off-white 5.5 x 8.5 sheet, also signed on the reverse by psychiatrist Alfred Adler, President Wilhelm Miklas of Austria, philosopher Hans Kelsen, and others. In overall fine condition, with overall toning and light creasing. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
