Two checks: a personal check, 6.5 x 2.75, filled out in another hand and signed by George Gershwin, payable to Independent Electric Lighting Corp. for $6.60, June 1, 1932; and a personal check, 8.25 x 3, filled out and signed by Ira Gershwin, payable to Sydney’s for $32.38, January 6, 1956. Ink notations to the left margin of the Ira check read “Leningrad—L. S. G.” Both are individually encapsulated in plastic PSA/DNA authentication holders. In overall fine condition, with vertical folds (one passing through a single letter of the Ira signature), the writing a shade or two light on the George check, and expected cancellation holes and bank stamps (affecting the first name of the Ira check and a portion of the surname on the George check).
