Collection of forty Life magazines, dating from December 14, 1959, to July 31, 1970, spanning from the early days of the Mercury project to the days leading up to the Apollo 13 mission. The collection features twenty-five Apollo issues, seven Gemini issues, and eight Mercury issues. In overall fine condition, with scattered creasing and tears, and some paper and surface loss from removed and clipped address labels. Accompanied by a Time magazine article from March 25, 1966, a Time magazine cover and article from August 9, 1971, and a pictorial magazine entitled The Astronauts and Their Families.
