ALS signed “Clementine S. Churchill,” four pages on two sheets, 5.25 x 7, Manor House letterhead, May 21, 1938. Letter to Mrs. Pearman, in full: “I must write to you to say how very very sorry I am about your illness & how much I feel for you. You have been working so very hard & I know you have private anxieties. And combined, it has been too much. Nervous exhaustion cannot be hurried. I do hope after you have partly recovered from the shock that you won’t hate being in bed for a time. I feel sure you will get quite well sooner than you or your doctor expects. Later on when you feel like it I should much like to come & see you. You have done so much for Mr. Churchill & he is so sad that you are ill. Miss Whyte keeps me informed every day. Please try not to worry. Peace of mind is the great cure.” In fine condition, with slight creasing to top edge of first page, and several horizontal folds. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
