American designer (1907–1978) who, along with his wife Ray, were highly influential in the development of modern architecture and furniture; most notably remembered for their ‘Eames’ chairs. Uncommon ALS in green crayon, signed “Charles,” one page, lightly-lined, 8.5 x 14, September 22, no year. Letter to “Sandro,” the textile designer Alexander Girard, in full: “Much much better if you select Revesche house photos by number-selection at this end could get to a real production—ESTIMATE—this is harder to do—if our guy is making on 2 prints per neg (8 x 10) it costs something less than 50¢ per print—if there are more it costs less—mounting goes fast—IF the selection has been made and binding spiral or plastic is standard—we will do anything to help but please make selection.” Eames draws an arrow pointing to the word “anything” and adds in various colored ballpoint pen, “We will even come to help with the G. D. show (I have to be in Detroit the 20th of Jan. for that jurying) so Ray and I could be in Chicago on the way if you wish—.” Mounted, double-matted, and framed with a photo of Eames and his wife Ray to an overall size of 24 x 21.
