Circa 1880s hand-colored 7.75 x 10 albumen photo of two sumo wrestlers and a referee affixed to its original 12 x 15.5 portfolio page retaining its captioned coversheet. Attributed to Austrian photographer Baron Raimund von Stillfried, whose work was instrumental in introducing traditional Japanese culture to the Western world. In fine condition, with light chipping to edges and binding holes to the left edge.
