Singer-songwriter (1897–1933) who melded jazz, blues, and Southern mountain music to become one of the first superstars of country music. Diagnosed with tuberculosis in his late twenties, he nonetheless continued to record prolifically and to tour until his death at the age of 35. Magnificent vintage matte-finish 7 x 9 Victor Records publicity photo of Rodgers wearing a bowtie and boater hat, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To my dear little Aunt Dara, from your nephew with lots of love, Jimmie Rodgers.” Attractively matted and framed to an overall size of 9.5 x 11. In fine condition, with just a couple trivial surface creases to background.
