Partly-printed vellum DS, signed “George R,” one page, 13.5 x 9.5, May 12, 1729. King George appoints William Lindsey as “Ensign of that Company whereof the Colonel himself is Captain in Our Regiment of Foot Commanded by Our Right Trusty and Welbeloved the Lord Mark Kerr.” The paper seal affixed to the upper left remains mostly intact. In very good condition, with intersecting folds (one vertical fold passing through a single letter of the signature) and moderate scattered soiling. Accompanied by a color copy of a letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA and a mat for display.
