TLS signed “Busby,” one page, 8.5 x 11, Warner Bros. Pictures Inc. letterhead, March 29, 1938. Letter to performer and original teen heartthrob Rudy Vallee, in part: “I agree with you a thousand percent with reference to having your brother and yourself work out a synopsis on the ‘Glee Club’ story. I shall anxiously await the receipt of this synopsis, but be sure and have it copy-righted and protected before mailing it to me, for obvious reasons. I am sure that if we can make a picture together it would materialize not only into a very happy association but an extremely successful one. You may rest assured I will do everything in my power at this end.” Berkeley adds a brief postscript, “Incidentally, it might please you to know that on leaving here you left in your wake a veritable Milky Way of swell thoughts and wishes for one, Rudy Vallee.” In fine condition, with expected horizontal mailing folds (one touching the top of the signature) and toning to top and right edges from previous display.
