Description

Woodrow Wilson

TLS, one page, 8 x 10, personal letterhead, August 10, 1912. As governor of New Jersey and democratic presidential nominee, Wilson types a letter to professional picture framer and autograph collector Samuel B. Coston, in full: “Allow me to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of August 6th, and to tell you with what special pleasure I have read it. The fact that thoughtful men who have usually acted with another party are ready to lend their ungrudging support not only gives me the deepest satisfaction but makes me hope that it will be my privilege to serve the country in a way that will satisfy all those who wish for a new order of things. I believe that I represent men united in the purpose to make the Democratic party serviceable to the Nation and to every interest in it.” Central vertical and horizontal folds and some scattered foxing, otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
