Polish-born American artist (1894–1951) best known for his works on Jewish subjects and his anti-Axis illustrations and caricatures during World War II. Fountain pen signature, “Arthur Szyk,” on an off-white 2.5 x 1 slip clipped from a check and affixed to page 84 of a proof copy of ‘Joseph and His Brothers.’ Also includes approximately thirty more pages from the proof. In fine condition, with some show-through from bank stamps to reverse. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
