A sizable segment of flown heat shield from the Sigma 7 spacecraft, measuring approximately 1 x 1 x 1, and displayed on a wooden base with an engraved plaque reading: "Heat Shield from ‘Sigma Seven,’ Mercury–Atlas 8, Walter M. Schirra, October 3, 1962." In fine condition, with trivial wear to the wooden base and scattered toning to the plaque.
