Patrick Gilmore

Composer and bandmaster (1829–1892) who served in the Union Army, during which time he famously wrote ‘When Johnny Comes Marching Home.’ AMQS on an off-white 4 x 2.75 slip, signed at the conclusion, “Yours, P. S. Gilmore, New York, Mar. 7, 1881.” Gilmore pens five bars of music, titling it at the top, “Columbia.” In fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
