ALS signed “G. W. Carver,” one page, 8.5 x 11, Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute letterhead, October 12, 1932. Letter to Harry D. Thompson, in part: “Your beautiful letter and clipping have arrived, how it thrills me to get a letter from my dear friend of years ago, and from one from which I received so much inspiration, information and encouragement…This did much towards giving me the courage to accomplish what has been given me in trust to do. My friend, I see you have not improved one bit in your estimate of my virtues, you were always 75% too high and you do not seem to be able to cut it down.” Intersecting folds (partial separation to right edge), a stray ink mark, and a spot of discoloration, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Carver’s own hand. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
