ALS signed “J. M. Barrie,” one page, 4.5 x 7, personal letterhead, January 21, 1919. Letter to the editor of the Daily Mail, in full: “If you care to use the enclosed trifle do so. This sent to you exclusively. The incident referred to is genuine, & amuses me but I may be prejudiced so if you don’t care for it park it in the wastepaper basket! In any case please don’t use my name.” In very good condition, with central vertical and horizontal folds, slight show-through from mounting remnants to reverse, some scattered soiling, trivial stray ink marks and erased pencil notations, and a rough left edge.
