Two items: a greeting card from Queen Mary of Teck featuring a nature scene and a printed quote from Samuel Taylor Coleridge on the front, measuring 6 x 9.25 closed, signed on the inside in blue ink, “from Mary R, 1950-1, The scissors are in consistent use—”; and an ALS from her mother, Princess Mary Adelaide, signed “Mary Adelaide,” three pages on two adjoining sheets, 4 x 6, Kensington Palace letterhead, June 12, 1871. Letter to Mr. Cavendish in which she expresses her approval of candidates in an upcoming election and, after having read their credentials, agrees to convey her endorsement of them to her mother (Augusta, Princess of Hesse) and her sister (Augusta, Caroline of Mecklenburg–Strelitz). In overall fine condition, with trivial soiling to the greeting card, and intersecting folds, and the signature and portions of text a shade light on the letter. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
