In full: “I have the pleasure of acknowledging receipt of the Medal presented me by the members of the ‘Sunday School’ over which you preside, and notice of the good use to which the money subscribed for it was applied. Thank the members of your school for me for this token of their respect.” In fine condition, with overall toning and a couple tiny edge tears. Accompanied by a presentation folder. Grant had been promoted to the newly created rank of General of the Army of the United States four months earlier after leading the Union to victory in the Civil War. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
