TLS in Hebrew, signed “D. Ben-Gurion,” two pages, 8.5 x 11, personal letterhead, March 19, 1961. Letter to Foreign Minister Moshe Sharett, in part (translated): “You have, evidently, not considered the possibility that the significance which you attributed or are attributing to the remarks I made in Giv’at Hayyim is not the same as the significance that I intended in my statements…It is possible that I do not know how to express myself correctly, or I do not understand well the intention or the significance of the statements that I express…I am prepared to accept your assertion that in my remarks there was a distortion of truth and the denigration of the name of a man and an unjustified accusation against a comrade who is also a person of official position and one of public prominence…I have, therefore, turned to you to advise me as to what course of action I should take. And I have vowed to do all that I can in the spirit of fairness, of truth, and of friendship.” Staple holes and rusty paperclip impressions to top edge, central vertical and horizontal folds, and light scattered creasing, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by an unsigned photo of Ben–Gurion. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
