Description

Max Reger

Prolific German composer (1873–1916) best known for his densely contrapuntal, Bach-inspired keyboard works. Large AMQS on an off-white 8.75 x 5.5 lightly gridded sheet, signed and inscribed below in German (translated), “In kind memory, from Dr. Max Reger, Wurzburg, 6. February 1914.” Reger pens four bars in the key of E major. In fine condition. The previous evening, Reger had conducted Brahms’s Op. 83, Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
