“Carried to the Lunar surface by the crew of Apollo XII”

Fantastic flown American flag carried to the moon on the Apollo 12 mission, 6.25 x 3.75, affixed to an 8 x 13 presentation mount signed in black felt tip by the Command Module Pilot, “This flag was carried to the Lunar surface by the crew of Apollo XII, Richard Gordon.” The mount also bears an affixed embroidered Apollo 12 mission patch and typed slip, “Sailed with Yankee Clipper and Intrepid to the Ocean of Storms, November 1969.” In fine condition, with some slight show-through from adhesive on reverse of the flag. An attractive and boldly signed presentation piece representative of man’s second moon landing. Provenance: The Leon Ford Collection. Pre-certified Zarelli Space Authentication.
