Two items: an ink signature, “Winf’d S. Hancock,” on an off-white 5 x 4 lightly lined slip clipped from a document; and an ALS signed “L. Thomas,” one page both sides, 7.75 x 9.75, August 24, 1841, in part: “A general court martial will assemble at West Point, N.Y….for the trial of Private Thomas Horton of the Artillery Academy.” Intersecting folds to the Hancock slip (two passing through letters of the signature), and light creases and scattered foxing to the Thomas, otherwise overall fine condition.
